Do:

  • Wash your car by hand
  • Use cool water
  • Use a mild, non-abrasive car wash formula and a soft cloth, towel, or sponge
  • Wash with clean, fresh water
  • Wash your car in the shade if possible

Don't:

  • Use a commercial car wash (The rigid brushes and rough sponges utilized by these systems can damage the surface of your vehicle and scuff or scratch your new paint.)
  • "Dry wipe" your new paint (Doing so can scour your vehicle's finish.)
  • Travel along gravel or unpaved roads (The clear coat and paint of your vehicle is extremely susceptible to chipping in the first 30 days after your repairs.)
  • Park beneath trees (Bird droppings can adhere to and wear away fresh paint, and tree sap can cause similar issues.)
  • Allow gas, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, or windshield wiper fluid to come in to contact with your new paint
  • Scrape ice or snow off of your fresh paint
  • Wax or polish your vehicle in the first 90 days. (Doing so inhibits your paint's ability to properly harden and dry.)
